A mystery channel dedicated to the former Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein has dropped off the airwaves just three days after it first began broadcasting.
The chairman of the channel told The Associated Press that it will return by the weekend, after a technology upgrade to make the broadcast stronger.
Iraqi government officials have said they suspect the channel was run by Baathists whose political party Saddam once led.
A TV channel dedicated to Saddam Hussein has appeared on the Arab satellite networks. It’s not clear who is behind the channel. The channel broadcasts the speeches, images and even poetry of the former Iraqi leader’ backed with patriotic music. It is broadcast from outside Iraq and some analysts suspect his former political supporters of bankrolling it.

The Grand Slam Committee said on Monday that World number one Serena Williams has been fined $175,000 and put on probation for two years for her foul-mouthed outburst at the U.S. Open.

The three day festival takes place on 11th to 13th June 2010 and will also see performance from Pink, Orbital and Blondie. Tickets for the festival will go on sale from 4th December, 2009.
