Piracy seems to evade the clutches of Microsoft. The Office 2010 Technical Preview has been leaked on the Internet. It was widely expected that a public beta built of Office 2010 will be available this week.

Much to the joy to the happy pirates around the world, someone leaked the software online and posted on the torrent site. To install it, one requires a product key, but that is not a fool proof plan to counter piracy. But, those downloading the software illegally can simply copy the serial number and end up with a clean install.

The leaked built is numbered version 14.0.4536.1000. It is tagged with a ‘beta 2’ naming.

Well, it’s not entirely a bad thing for the software giant. It does get them good publicity at the end.
