Do you know that in India there are more than 1,000 forms of saris?
A book on the Indian attire sari was released in Delhi, on Wednesday. The book was released in India by Wisdom Tree and the National Institute of Design (NID) at an event co-hosted by Craft House and Chivas.
Shedding light on the sari’s traditional significance and styles of weaving, design vocabulary and style of draping, the book titled ‘Indian Saris: Traditions-Perspectives-Design’ was written by Vijay Singh Katiyar. The volume boasts of over 892 visuals of a wide range of saris from the past to the contemporary.
The book is available in hardback edition for Rs 3,495 only.
